Hebrew Word of the Day (adom)The shoresh (root) of the Hebrew word for “red” (אָדֹם) is דָּם (blood).  This is also the root for אָדָם (Adam; man), אֲדָמָה (ground, earth), and אֱדוֹם (Edom).
